Kate T – New Orleans, LA

I’ve always liked graveyards and visiting people’s graves. It gives me a sense of mortality and a sense of place in the world. That said, it’s not the most environmentally sound process. So I’d like some kind of marker for people to visit, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be my decomposing body. Just something that says I lived and died. The marker is about my life, not my body. The two have very little to do with each other.

Location of the marker is about convenience to my family, not any place that is particularly meaningful to me. I don’t care, I’ll be dead. As for my actual body, I suppose I’d like it to feed something. Bugs or fish or plants in some way. I won’t need it anymore, so hopefully it will help someone else out. I don’t know what is the best, most useful thing to do–maybe be chopped into chum and thrown into the ocean, or somehow be used in a vegetable garden.
